Summary/Abstract: The archaeological diggings carried out at Alba Iulia, in north-western area of the ancient Roman camp from Apulum brought to light new information about the vestiges from the Roman era, the beginning of the Migration Period, Early Middle Ages (10th – 12th centuries), the Principality of Transylvania and the Habsburg rule. This article analyses an Early Medieval grave dated from the second half of 10th century from which were recovered a bronze finger ring and a clay pot with a craftsman stamp on its bottom. This inhumation grave is contemporary with the church built in the Byzantine style (second half of 10th – first half of 11th centuries) unearthed nearby the ”St. Michael” Roman-Catholic Cathedral from Alba Iulia and some cemeteries with inhumation graves from Alba Iulia – Staţia de Salvare, phase II, Alba Iulia – Izvorul Împăratului and Alba Iulia – Brândușei St., phase I.
