Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt to indicate the presence of magic in Marc Chagall’s life and work. The article is focused on their interaction which extracts „painting poetry”. The claim that by using certain techniques and treatments of painting Marc Chagall enters the world of magic, requires exemplifying with selected paintings. The author refers to the given problem in the context of the interpretation of iconography and a wide sphere of symbolism. The leading themes are happiness, love and the context of childhood memories immersed in Jewish mysticism. Facing what is not always obvious, Chagall created a magical world and the observer of his paintings “notices the confusion of different realities”
