Summary/Abstract: Ita Daly, a contemporary Irish writer, makes various cultural aspects intermingle in her short story, ―The Lady with the Red Shoes‖. The storyteller, a fine observer of people and their behavior, contemplates the way in which old and new, Irish, British and American cultural aspects find shelter in an Irish hotel meant to preserve Irishness. My paper aims at identifying and presenting these elements and the way in which a community can change due to cultural influences.
