Demiurgical dimensions of reality. On the margins of the novel of Alfred Kubin and Jan Weiss

Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses certain motifs common to the novels of Alfred Kubin and Jan Weiss. The author analyses symbolic domains of the plot, referring among others to the gnostic thought, the theory of utopia, or psychoanalysis. She emphasises the intertextuality of the novels discussed, which constitutes a kind of a game with the reci- pient in which the authors demonstrate the demiurgical aspects of reality.
