Summary/Abstract: The personal source (life-history document) written in the first person singular, that is analyzed in this case study, was revealed and retrieved within ethnographic research that was carried out in Orahovac, Bay of Kotor. It was written at the end of the 20th century, on her own initiative and independently of ethnographer, by a female member of the local community and key informant in the research. Therefore, this document was classified into the category of anthropological ethnobiography. Analysis of the narrative (character, technique, and topic) and discourse brought to the surface idiosyncratic features of the autobiographical strategy of this self-taught writer: similarities with the oral, current speech, ethnographic realism, life-history genre and autobiography of oratorical type. These features are anthropologically relevant, as conditioned by cultural tradition, social history, gender and personal identity.
