Summary/Abstract: Synesthesia is a term which has several meanings. The original meaning of the word synesthesia is unification of sensations, but this term has its application also in psychology, arts and literature in different connotations. In psychology synesthesia is used for a certain condition of human mind, where simulation of one sensory leads to automatic, unconscious experiences in a second sensory. On the other hand, in literature synesthesia means stylistic figure, while the neurological phenomenon served to art as an inspiration for so-called synesthetic artists. The beginning of the twentieth century was the most prolific period when it comes to creating the material heritage stimulated by synesthesia. So, separating the concept of synesthesia in several super structures: history of synesthesia, synesthesia in practice and as a step towards total museum, we analyzed the impact of smaller groups (infrastructure) in this whole issue of proving synesthesia as intangible heritage in the form of a metaphorical expression in the arts.
