Summary/Abstract: Focusing on a digital storytelling workshop that was run with four ten-year-old fourth graders who were willing to overcome boundaries for disabled children, this article discusses the connection between children’s participation and digital storytelling. In their digital stories, these four children reflected their experience of visiting a Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital in the scope of another social responsibility project that was held in their school by older grades. The digital stories that were told in that workshop was also included to one of the participant child’s Primary Years Project as an outcome and in addition to her PYP presentation, they were screened in a public gathering for fourth graders. While focusing on this digital storytelling workshop with four children that was organized as an out-of-school activity, the reflections of these children of spending time with their disabled peers will be examined. This article raises questions on the use of digital technologies particularly digital storytelling in the attempts of consciousness raising among individuals that have access to resources for understanding social inclusion for disadvantaged groups while being aware of the social exclusion mechanisms in societies.
