Summary/Abstract: This study gives a brief history of theology education in Turkey during the Republican period in terms of academic institutionalization and interrogates the nature and quality of this education roughly. All these are achieved through Sedat Veyis Örnek who had a bachelor degree in the Faculty of Theology. Then his gradute thesis İsa’nın Son Günleri (The Last Days of Jesus Christ) which was perepared for the 1953-54 academic year in the field of Comparative Religions History at the Faculty of Theology has been introduced and analyzed as one of the first examples of his literary and scientific writing style, which is also infleuntial in his later works.
