Summary/Abstract: Sedat Veyis Örnek who has got valuable research Folklore and Ethnology is an important academic. Besides his researches, Sedat Veyis Örnek has got many literary poetry, short story and drama. He translated short stories and plays from different languages into Turkish. He thinks that literary works provide a valuable resource for folklore. Folklore, Ethnology and Sociology disciplines have much to learn from literary masterpieces. For Sedat Veyis Örnek, Literature is a special tranmission area that he can express his knowledge, emotions, thoughts and imagination. Sedat Veyis Örnek sometimes tells an event or sometimes tells a real part of life in his short stories. In his masterpieces it is sometimes seen the traces of Sivas where he was born and grew up or sometimes the traces of the years in Germany where he studied. Another important item of his masterpieces is his professional knowledge and his experiences. It is clear that he has significant contributions to Turkish Literature not only with his researches, writings but also with his translations as well. Although he deals with Literature a lot, he is such a modest person that he doesn’t name himself as a writer. In this study, short stories written by Sedat Veyis Örnek will be analysed in the aspect of his life, thoughts and emotions.
