Summary/Abstract: The article researches the legal regime of the Bulgarian higher schools from the Liberation until present days in historical and comparatively-legal aspect, in order to systematize the legislative amendments. The legal regime of the higher schools is not being researched from juridical point of view, what provokes the interest of the author to an article in this direction. The author makes a periodization and analysis of the legislation in the area of the higher education in Bulgaria, and on basis of this analysis she makes important conclusions about the Bulgarian system of higher education. The development of the higher education is directly connected to the scientific researches and innovations and is a guarantee for high-qualified graduates/specialists, who are of importance for the whole European Community (European Union).
