Summary/Abstract: Android is the leading mobile platform with more than 80% of worldwide market share. Its open nature and popularity not only contribute to the vast number of Android applications available for users to download and install, but also a great number of malware and vulnerable applications. To help users and research community understand the possible security threats in Android applications, we developed a web-based security analysis tool that automatically extracts and analyzes the security threats in Android Applications from various sources using a number of security metrics. Our tool not only provides independent security analysis of an individual application that can be either uploaded by the user or from our repository, but also collective application analysis across history versions, applications in the same category and applications with similar functionalities.
