Summary/Abstract: The present study highlights the fact that the language of Romanian press is an important component of Romanian language and that journalistic language represents the main vector of language contact and lexical innovation. In journalistic language, the phatic component predetermines the conative constituent.On the other hand, we analyze the concept of Romanian press history, as it is understood in the Romanian academic field
