Summary/Abstract: The article deals with a number of motifs and images, typical for baroque literature, which are related to the concept of ideological notions of temporal human life. Particular attention in this connection is drawn to the Polish-polemical works by Lazarus Baranovych and his circle of writers. The characteristics of artistic depiction of the theme of life are clarified and the specific of processing the ideas of futility of human life by Chernihiv writers group are identified.
