Axiological Conditions for Innovativeness

Summary/Abstract: The article presents innovativeness as a multidimensional category, situated at the interface of technology and culture, therefore determined in two manners: pragmatically and axiologically. The latter aspect of innovativeness – axiological – seems to be omitted in the present-day discussions. The fact that it has been included here may be considered as an attempt to overcome the ubiquitous reductionism. The axiological context allows of showing and comprehending the nature of innovativeness, thanks to which it is no longer a slave of praxis and an instrument orientated only towards perfecting the matter of homo faber. The axiological context in the present article is analysed in several phases: legitimisation of innovativeness, social levels of authorisation, and systemic conditions of innovativeness.
