Innovation in the Institutions of the Sector of Local Governments

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the question of inventiveness in the institutions of the sector of local governments. At the beginning some general social regularities concerning inventiveness in organisations have been characterised, with a special attention paid to bureaucratic institutions. In the main part of the article the author concentrates on individual and institutional conditions of inventiveness in the bodies of local governments. The empirical exemplification of the problems of inventiveness in the local administration are the results of sociological research conducted in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship.
