Summary/Abstract: The labour market is a place of continuous competition between candidates who want to get a job and the ones who want to keep their jobs. Well educated people with the most in-demand skills have the highest chance of getting a job. There is no denying that there is almost always a labour surplus on the market. With the existing competition, be that as it may, the people socially excluded have poor chances of getting a job. Among others, the handicapped – also the intellectually handicapped – belong to the group of socially excluded people. The author presents a special system of assistance thanks to which such groups of people could be more active on the labour market, and identifies problems and advantages of assisted employment, both from the point of view of workers and employers.
