Summary/Abstract: Over recent years there has been a rising interest in the concept of gender. In particular, it relates to issues of cultural gender, which is determined as “gender”. Its basic premise is to recognize gender only as a socio-cultural construct, and consequently to reduce human being to this dimension. In context of this more and more common cultural concept, it is worth to refer to the classical concept of gender, formed on the basis of Polish personalistic anthropologists such as K. Wojtyla, A. Krąpiec or W. Chudy. In this article an attempt is made to capture the essence of classical and cultural concepts of gender and to compare them. These concepts – as it turns out – carry important implications for education and classical concept can be a kind of “cure” for the confusion caused by popularization of “gender”.
