Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present the role of psychologist in the formation in a higher theological seminary on the basis of Ratio fundamentalis institutionis sacerdotalis “The Gift of Priestly Vocation” and the experience of Polish psychologists. The contribution of psychology is valuable both for formation guides and for seminarians in two areas: in the assessment of personality, expressing an opinion about candidate’s psychological health and in psychotherapeutic accompaniment to assist in growth in human maturity. The field of psychologist’s competence is unable to make a judgment on the suitability of seminarians for priesthood.
