Summary/Abstract: This paper analyses the sentiment of nostalgia and the way in which it affects the individual who is uprooted and/or placed in a life crisis. One of the main topics of the paper is the search for identity of the subject in exile, as well as the ways in which the cultural background can influence the construction and actualization of the identity of the subject of the modern day. The paper also attempts to explore the ways in which the process of writing can transform itself in the process of creating one’s identity. The paper analyzes the role of the culture and the ways in which uprooting from a certain culture can result in the reshaping of already formed cultural identities, as well as the ways in which the sentiment of nostalgia can influence the process of finding a new identity in the state of exile.
