Summary/Abstract: The text gives an overview of works written by Njegos which have been studied in the primary and secondary schools, and have been recommended in the relevant programs of Montenegrin-Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian language and literature. The author has tried to analyze, evaluate and explain the presence of this, for Montenegro, especially important writer, taking into account, apart from artistic ones methodical, ie. psychological and pedagogical criteria by which his literary works can be recommended for the study in the particular educational levels (in this case the primary and secondary level) and grades. As the current programs, according to their structure and approach to teaching literature, have been designed differently than the previous ones, the author thought it would be important to present their structure and the presence of Njegos in them.
