Summary/Abstract: In our paper, we use the facts from the interview with Stéphane Polianski, the son of Branko Ve Poljanski, as an authentic testimony about the last years of hisfather’s life. The mystery about Poljanski’s death is finally solved: he died near Fontainebleauon January 14th, 1947. Branko dedicated the last two decades of his life in France, between 1927 and 1947, to painting and forming a family. He was married to Renée Delattre, and had four children with her. His sudden death from cardiac arrestcut short his life in his prime. In France, he established contacts with well-known artists: Céline Arnauld, Paul Dermée, André Salmon, Marcel Sauvage, Tristan Tzara,even Picasso, and he held several art exhibitions in Parisian galleries.
