Names of locations are often given according to the Turkish traditions of naming. It is also known that these names have often a great importance in the study of folklore. For this reason, this work is composed of two main parts. In the first part, the names of the settlements in Nevsehir region are detected and classified, and in the second part, the suitability of these names to the tradition of giving a name are investigated and the data obtained are evaluated in terms of folklore.
