Summary/Abstract: The subject of this paper is the character of empress Doris in Konstantin Marinković’s „Plač Rahili ili izbijenije na mladencov povelenije Iroda cara judejskago“. Although empress Doris, or Dorida how Kontantin Marinković calls her from time to time, is an episodic character of this religious epic, she deserves additional research attention. This idea is based on the fact that empress Doris, at some point of this epic, becomes dominant. Despite the fact that she is wife of the emperor Irod, and the member of the family responsible for Bethlehem children massacre, she shares the same fate as the main character Rahila and all the mothers of Sion.
