Summary/Abstract: Through the analysis of robot’s and Atlantean’s (human) characters, we are examining the notional, ethical and esthetical layers of the novel Atlantis by Borislav Pekić. By examination, we are depicting ideological and utopic desires of both parties, robotic and atlantean (human). The display of a way in which Nucleus and Aquarius are functioning is a parallel made to show how the genocide/roboticide politic of both power centers is appearing as utopian doctrine, and at the same time the distinction between those two doctrines is annihilated, revealing that both power centers are acting the same. Indicating the ways in which Nucleus and Aquarius are operating, we are analyzing the characteristics of humans and robots. The Christ as an inoperative sign in the discourse of the novel is pointed out as a signal of the absurdity and futile attempt of Atlanteans (now recognized as robots) to reclaim the world for themselves.
