The Importance of Strategic Management for the Improvement of Public Procurement in Serbia

Summary/Abstract: The system of public procurement and strategic management should be joining top management through the planning process of public procurement, the same management, guidance staff and control the flow of supply. If that were to happen in a public company or a local government, without of the presence of corruption, which is a sore point with public procurement, and without prejudice to the officers who carry out the process for the customer, there would be the ideal process of public procurements. However, there are many external influences that prevent the proper approach to the process despite constant improvements of legislation in this area.
