Summary/Abstract: In this study, the idioms used in Turkish are analyzed, and in this respect what kinds of features that prepositional phrases must have to form idioms are examined. Evaluations, which have been prepared through the words chosen from Turkish Idioms Dictionaries, are given under seven subtitles. The main purpose of this study is to be able to prove that many phrases which are reckoned as idioms are not actually idioms and to illustrate what kinds of characteristics that prepositional phrases must have to form idioms with examples and commentary. Through this process, this study aims to contribute to the removal of some confusion that is coincided about idioms in Turkish.
