Summary/Abstract: In this work, our aim is to give examples of hen night songs belonging to our region. Hen night is a women’s get-together for fun held at bride’s home one day before the bride is on her way in many parts of Anatolia. It is a kind of farewell to mother’s home. It is of great importance culturally with its practices and sanctions. To give a few examples; its being the last day of bride at her own home, the bride’s last fun with her single friends, the tradition of bride’s and others’ putting on henna, helping the bride to overcome her sadness before leaving mother’s home, providing the bride with information about how to behave at husband’s home.
