Summary/Abstract: Long secret documents discovered in British archives have refuted the claim repeated over many years that the British were not aware of the task that Gabčík and Kubiš had actually been charged with. However, it has not been hitherto widely known to what extent and with what intensity the Special Operations Executive (SOE) was involved in the preparations for the assassination. Its part in Operation Anthropoid was absolutely fundamental.
