The Field in which Health and Culture Meets: Medical Anthropology

Summary/Abstract: This article comparatively evaluates the studies of medical anthropology from past to today. I discuss that “health” and “illness” terms are described as a cultural context. This article based upon different perceptions of ethno-medicine, folk-medicine and traditional medicine in different societies. Traditional and modern medical practices and process, health and illness as a cultural context have became contemporary subjects for different branches of social sciences. Folk-medicine basing on relations between health and culture is one of the basic fields of Folklore.
