Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to evaluate the economic effects of management of FDI in correlation with regional development. A methodology was used to identify a complex relevant indicator of development that is the amount of foreign direct investments flowing to the region on the NUTS III level, was applied for the evaluation of the economic status of regions and their underdevelopment. Another part of the analysis was the identification of the correlation between the FDI in the region and the sustainability of the development expressed by the regional GDP per capita. In the majority of regions, the correlation between the amount of the FDI and the sustainability of the development expressed by the regional GDP per capita was confirmed. At the same time, it is possible to identify a significant economic divergence of regions.
