Summary/Abstract: Death is the essential topic of poetry. The loss of relatives - always painful - in a particular way afflicts those, who have to pay last respects to their mothers. Sickness, dying, death and grief are depicted as “The Manuscripts of no-respect- p(r)aying” in the literary works of four different authors. The unwilling to agree with the absence and passing away of the mother is taking form of a lyrical text, which is a farewell - a sort of a conversation, a letter, an epitaph. The shocking images of assisting mother during her sickness are enunciated by Różewicz, Kamieńska and the Rev. Zelga. From a certain time perspective Korczak farewells his mother with his ‘prayers’. A record of pain, on which one can only look powerlessly is conveyed by poetry - in the modern world based on commerce and consumption such a lesson of bereavement is more than necessary.
