Summary/Abstract: This paper analyses citations as a form of intertextual relationship in Bulbulistan by Fevzi Mostarac. Citations in Bulbulistan may be classified in three groups. The first includes citations from the Qur’an and the Hadith, the second includes citations of poems in Persian and Ottoman Turkish, assigned to Persian, Turkish and Bosnian poets, and the third includes citations of proverbs in Arabic. These citations can be further classified according to the triangle of citation categories, i.e., in light of how much own text, cited text or sub-text or proto-text of another source they include, as elaborated by Dubravka Oraić-Tolić in her Theory of Citation. They are thus divided according to signals that indicate the presence of citations, citations that overlap with the proto-text, citations according to the semantic function within the text itself.
