Summary/Abstract: Abstract: The law of succession is concerned with the transfer or devolution of property on death. It can be divided into two principal topics: the law of intestate succession and the law of wills. But not all transfers on death are covered by the law of intestate succession or the law of wills. There are a number of ways in which property which belongs to, or which may appear to belong to, an individual during his lifetime may pass on his death other than his will or in accordance with the intestacy rules.
