What are the Russians dreaming about?

Summary/Abstract: The article represents a sociological approach to the problem of national mentality through the analysis of collective dreams. The Russian dream, compared with American and European dreams, is considered on the basis of empirical data provided by the recent polls. The author demonstrates the links between collective dreams and the images of history in national self-consciousness and discusses their relations to modern political attitudes.
