Summary/Abstract: The present essay aims at analyzing several aspects of the historical perspective of the Romanian historian Aaron Florian (1805-1887). The philosophical ideas of the time are reflected in the volumes published by the professor at Colegiul Sfântul Sava: the elightenment, the historicism, the romanticism and the positivism. Together with the national ideas of the age, they influenced the style, the topics and the language used by the Romanian historian. The importance of the works of Aaron Florian must be reconsidered and given a new place in the evolution of the Romanian historiography.
