The Influence of Vasilj Stefanik on Mihajlo Kovač’s Literary Works

Summary/Abstract: In this work we analyze the inf luence of Vasilj Stefanik on Mihajlo Kovač. These two writers are closely connected to each other by the village area and the descriptions of hard life of the peasants. The strongest inf luence of Vasilj Stefanik on Mihajlo Kovač is most obvious in presenting the world as it is. Stefanik depicts the life as it is in his stories, and Kovač openly tells the truth to the people even though they won’t hear about it. The peasant is the main character as is his connection to the land from which and on which he lives. Connected to this is the social and analytical funtion as the national revival and the stabilizing of the nation.
