Small and medium business in Lithuania and its macroeconomic efficiency

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with theoretic aspects of small and medium business and its situation in Lithuania. The concept of of small and medium business and its significance for countries economy are defined. The concept of subjects of small and medium business and their classification are presented. The problems of small and medium business, its development abilities and abilities to get of support for this business in Lithuania are analysed. The functions of institutions that supplies the support for SMB and ways of supporting small and medium business are discussed. The state of system of small and medium-sized enterprises and its dynamic tendencies before and during the economics crises in Lithuania are discussed. On the basis of statistical date the macroeconomic efficiency of kinds of small and medium-sized enterprises was calculated.
