Summary/Abstract: Gerhard Schönrich (born in 1951) studied Philosophy, Modern German Literature and Linguistics at the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich, where he defended his doctoral dissertation in 1979 and then habilitated in 1988. Since 1992 he heads the Chair of Theoretical Philosophy at the Technical University of Dresden (Germany). He is the vice-president of the Polish-German Philosophical So-ciety. Book publications: Kategorien und transzendentale Argumentation (1981); Zeichenhandeln. Untersuchungen zum Begriff einer semiotischen Vernunft im Ausgang von Ch.S. Peirce (1990); Bei Gelegenheit Diskurs. Von den Grenzen der Diskursethik und dem Preis der Letztbegründung (1993); Semiotik zur Einführung (1999). Co-editor and volume editor: Kant in der Diskussion der Moderne (1996, with Y. Kato); Institutionen und Regelfolgen (2002, with U. Baltzer); Normativität und Faktizität. Skeptische und transzendentalphilosophische Positionen im Anschluss an Kant (2004); Institutionen und ihre Ontologie (2005); Wissen und Werte (2009); Persistenz – Indexikalität – Zeiterfahrung (2011, with P. Schmechtig). The author of numerous dissertations and articles published in collective volumes and scientific journals on Kant’s philosophy, ontological questions, cognitive theories, and axiology.
