Summary/Abstract: In the dictionary system of Bulgarian language, a word functions with different types of meanings: nominative, figurative, phraseological, and last but not least, associated with specific ethnocultural background (mythological) values, which generally could bedefined as symbolic. All these meanings are not cut off from each other and are in constant contact with each other, reflecting the semantic development, built by the relations in theso-called semantic triangle: object - concept - name.
