Summary/Abstract: Our study will focus on The Diary of a Country Priest by Georges Bernanos and the cycle of Peguy's Jeanne d'Arc to demonstrate the similarity of their religious beliefs by comparing two common themes that exist in these two books: "vocation" and "loneliness". The Diary of a Country Priest and the cycle of Joan of Arc are deeply rooted in the lives of their authors, especially in the bitter experience of the time when begins the composition of the work. In other words, Bernanos and Péguy succeed in reviving Christianity in the twentieth century world that has lost its religious background and they make us understand that in the face of sinners, stands a positive character (the young pastor of Ambricourt and Joan of Arc) who accepted the presence of God throughout his life.
