Summary/Abstract: The paper preliminary defines disciplinary responsibility and points out to the importance of notary public profession. It offers a review of legal regulation of disciplinary responsibility of notaries public in the Republic of Montenegro and standpoints of the legal theory on certain institutes. Also, the paper states solutions in foreign legislations The author concludes that the legislator has regulated very clearly the rules of disciplinary proceedings. The author particulary points out that there are a sufficient number of disciplinary offenses and punishments. The appropriate judicial protection against final decisions in disciplinary proceedings is also ensured.
