Methodological principles of research of military symbolism of Ukraine

Summary/Abstract: The main task of any science is the knowledge of the objective laws of events and phenomena. When choosing a methodology of knowledge, especially historical research, the most important requirement is a concrete study of the conditions and causes of various social events and phenomena in their relationship and development. The principles of historicism and objectivity, reliability and sources of evidence, systematic approach to the study of historical events allow fully reveal the historical truth and scientific truth.The historical process and historical knowledge are two important aspects of the scientific conception of history, which significantly affect the researcher and each other. The process of historical knowledge is marked so that it cannot affect the past, but creates the possibility to predict the future paths of the historical process [3, p. 53]. As for the methodology of history, it is a system or set of principles and practices that have guided historian, describing events and examining them on the basis of documentary sources, in fact, methodology of history is a methodology historiography emphasizes scientist G. Bondarenko [3, p. 58].Scientist M. Gareev believes the most important methodological issues of history, including military history, clarify the object and subject of research [5, p. 31]. In his view, history as an objective reality is a process of nature and society, and historical science is a complex social science that studies the history of mankind in all its diversity. As we know, history science consisting of world history and the history of individual countries and peoples. In turn, they are divided into periods of human development such as history of primitive, ancient, medieval, new, latest societies. Immediate field of historical science is considered to be economic history, military history, historical geography, historiography, etc.. They organically related with special historical sciences such as archeology and ethnography. In addition, the history of science as a set of adjacent neighboring field of historical knowledge is historical sections of other sciences, which study various aspects of social life, culture, science, art and technology.Based on these provisions, we can determine the object and purpose of military-historical science. Thus, the object of military-historical science is a military branch of social history, and the subject is the history of wars and armed struggle in close relationship with other factors, in the unity of economic, social, political, ideological and military parties, evolution of the methods of armed combat, manning, institution-building, equipping and training of the armed forces, their management in wartime and peacetime, logistics and technical support. The need for knowledge of objective phenomena, its patterns define the content and structure of military-historical science.The military-historical works being devoted to the methodology of military history, argue that military history in-cludes the history of warfare and the art of war, military construction, military equipment, military and military-theoretical and historical thought. There are such auxiliary historical disciplines such as military historiography and source, archeographical and military history work, military statistics and military archeology.But there are other necessary sections of military history in the research. For example, in Ukraine on winning independence and formation of the military organization of the state was born and started the process of developing and implementing modern military symbols, which is actively being developed. Certainly, it has to find its place in the structure of military history. Its structure should complement the branch of military symbolism.The methodological basis of the studying of the military symbolism essence is based on scientific objectivity and historicism, systematic and comprehensive learning of the problem. The application of basic methods and principles of military-historical research on the issue of military symbolism Ukraine reveals the main trends of modern heraldry, prom-issory note science, faleristics, uniform science and symbols in general.
