Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to analyze the impact of the exchange rate on economic competitiveness of acountry, in general, and on Romania’s competitiveness in particular. In the research it is underlined theimportance of a right choice of the equilibrium exchange rate at the entrance of ERM II and the equilibriumexchange rate is computed using the BEER method.
