Summary/Abstract: The article characterizes all of the Symbolists worldview, fueled by philosophical ideas of Arthur Schopenhauer and Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche and it is proved that they are all particularly important for the work of Sologub. Created by the author of The small devil “vicious circle” of evil and suffering, which is both the driving force and the catalyst, characterized by constant hopelessness. Traditional Russian Symbolism deprives evil from hidden form for centuries. Unfortunately, giving it translated into Polish as neuter gender, causes loss of mythological, symbolist and demonic sense of drama that Sologub wanted to tell.
