Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the onomatology of the Orthodox saints in the Polish language. The onomatology is largely unstructured and inconsistent – it is based primarily on a typology of holiness according to which the saints of the Orthodox Church are broken into categories (types). The paper discusses the structure of hagioanthrophonyms as well as their classification. The author also provides examples of distinguishers and titles which make part of hagioanthrophonyms. These names by themselves bring considerable knowledge about the saints. The article ends with proposals of systematizing the onomatology associated with the Orthodox hagionyms.
