Vojvodina as a Political and National Programme in the Habsburg Monarchy

Summary/Abstract: By invoking the imperial privileges with which they were rewarded for war service provided for the Habsburg dynasty and by interpreting them as a constitutional and legal document as well as the democratic and legitimate right of Serbian people, secular and clerical representatives of Serbian people defined policy of Serbian Diaspora which was essentially based on a terirtorial and political autonomy. Vojvodina as a national imperative held a special place in the written programmes of Serbian parties, the public opinion and in the actions of Serbian institutions up to 1918, even though its establishment was beyond political probability ever since the dualist reorganisation of the Monarchy.
