Summary/Abstract: Since its inception and computerization of member libraries, Federation of Church Libraries FIDES has strived to unify the principles of subject indexing. So far individual libraries were using various IR query languages. The first attempt to standardize this issue was the introduction of initially free key words in a common MAK database. Once Central Catalogue in Koha was created, the National Library’s Subject Indexing System was selected due to newly established cooperation with NUKAT Centre. In the near future the National Library’s Descriptor project will be implemented to replace current Subject Indexing System.
