Summary/Abstract: The article presents ways to use genogram as a tool in therapeutic work with people threatened of social exclusion. Genogram is a kind of psychological family tree, which helps you to see family interactions, in particular patterns and transgenerational mechanisms, passed down from generation to generation codes of conduct, mechanisms for coping with difficulties, belief systems etc. The social work often raises the problem of intergenerational transmission of poverty, unemployment and other phenomena conducive to social exclusion The author based on his experience in direct work with clients of social assistance presents the possibilities of using genogram in the therapy and prevention of transmission of uncorrected patterns.
