Summary/Abstract: Article refers to researches fortificated residences of Wieluń Land by prof. Leszek Kajzer. In sources from 15th and beginnings of 16th century there are mentions of fortificated residences (fortalicium) in Dąbrowa, Praszka, Wieruszów, Walichnowy, Biała and Raczyn. Those build- ings were owned by noble families of Kingdom of Poland (Rytwiańscy, Kurozwęccy, Łascy) or, considered as a local elite, (heirs of Wieruszów, Walichnowy, Kowale and Praszka, Biała and Mokrsko, coat of arms Wieruszowa, who originate from common ancestor and family Struś of Raczyn, coat of arms Niesobia). Founder of fortalicium in Dąbrowa was supposedly Jan Mężyk, province governor (voivode) of Lwów, close associate of the King of Poland Władysław Jegiełło. What is important, is an information about the functioning of fortificated residence in Praszka. It was supposedly built during the location of Praszka in city law, which happened between the end of 14th century and before 1460. Therefore it is impossible to indicate one person as a founder of fortificated residence in Praszka.
