Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to analyze the process of education in the field of management accounting in Poland and to evaluate this process from the viewpoint of tasks faced by specialists in management ac-counting/controlling. To achieve this objective, educational programs in the fields of Finance and Ac-counting at 60 universities or faculties in Poland were examined. The survey results indicate that the process of education in management accounting in Poland requires a significant change. Moreover, the knowledge acquired by students during courses is mostly insufficient to perform tasks in the area of the management accounting. The results of the research may prove useful for planning changes in the curric-ula of universities. The article also includes a review of world literature on management accounting education, which can be an inspiration for conducting this type of research in Poland.
